David J. Schenberg
David is a co-founder of BusyEvent and a 1991 graduate of the University of Kansas. A 20 year veteran in the events industry, David has extensive experience designing, managing and selling technology that motivates people to meet and conduct business together. A well-known presenter on the ideas central to the company’s Return-On-Action, David has experience supporting the event initiatives of Fortune 500 brands (such as Anheuser-Busch, Hewlett-Packard, Domino’s Pizza, H&R Block and others).
David leads the way in business development and sales management and his clients trust him to navigate the ever changing landscape of emerging events technology.
Brian K. Slawin
Brian is a co-founder of BusyEvent and a 1989 graduate of the Parks College of Saint Louis University. Working in the events industry since the mid-90s, Brian has built, designed and managed business conferences, tradeshow programs and technology products for Fortune 500 clients (such as Domino’s Pizza, Ameriprise Financial, Toyota AirSports, NBC|Universal and others). Working together since 2003, David and Brian opened the technology-focused division of a federal contractor, successfully growing sales to $1.3 million in 11 months. A strong operational leader with a clear communication style, he successfully manages cross-functional teams and has a demonstrated aptitude as a hands-on software engineer.
Brian focuses on direct client management, day-to-day operations, vendor management and identifies business opportunities and strengthens client relationships.
Alyn V. Essman
Alyn is the retired Chairman and CEO of CPI Corporation and an investor and long-time advisor to BusyEvent. A distinguished alumnus of Washington University in St. Louis, he joined CPI’s predecessor in 1956 as Controller and progressed through a series of financial management positions until he was appointed President in 1969 and Chairman/CEO in 1973. In 1979 he led a senior management acquisition and then led the company’s IPO (NYSE:CPY) in 1982. At CPI, Alyn’s activities concentrated in finance and administration supporting strategic planning, guidance and implementation and shareholder relationships. Alyn has served on various community boards such as the St Louis Science Center, Webster University, Barnes Jewish Hospital and United Way as well as past service on boards of the St. Louis Symphony Society, Downtown St. Louis Inc., St. Louis Jewish Federation and others.
Alyn is the operational Chief Executive Officer of BusyEvent, focused on financial operations and opportunities for strategic growth.
Joe is the Chief Financial Officer of BusyEvent and a 2004 graduate of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Prior to joining the team, Joe spent 10+ years auditing and consulting with privately-held businesses ranging in size from $1M to $500M in revenue as a senior manager with RubinBrown LLP, a large regional public accounting firm headquartered in St. Louis, MO. Since 2012, Joe has also been a Lead Fellow for the Billiken Angels Network, providing deal-screening and due diligence services for the angels as well as mentoring for potential investment targets.
Joe is the primary financial steward of BusyEvent, with a strategic focus on both the day-to-day and long-term operational implications for technology, sales & marketing, and human resources.
Georgee is a Senior Account Executive for BusyEvent and a 22-year veteran of the hospitality industry. Her experience includes five years in senior sales positions with the Omni Hotels brand where she grew market share at the Omni Majestic by 115%. In sales and account management roles with Marriott, Georgee significantly increased rev par while expanding local and national accounts for both Corporate Group and Business Travel. She has extensive experience working with fortune 500 companies as a motivated Manager with proficiency in building client relationships and assisting teams in working within budget and timelines for a high level of client satisfaction. Georgee is a graduate of the College of Charleston and Johnson & Wales University and resides in St. Louis with her family.
Georgee focuses on account management, onboarding, training, and manages the account teams.
Eyal Ben Abraham
Eyal is the Chief Technology Officer for BusyEvent with more than a decade of experience as a hands-on computer engineer delivering innovative, reliable and scalable web and mobile solutions (applications, marketing and financial web sites and etc.). Eyal’s deep experience with web application architecture has earned him increasing responsibilities for leading numerous complex web applications involving Mobile Web, HTML5, Data Mining, Integration with External APIs, multiple databases and streaming video. His entrepreneurial drive led him to found a leading boutique web development firm, leading a team of 8 for clients as diverse as political parties, artists, law firms, start-ups and government agencies.
Eyal is focused on leading the development efforts of BusyEvent, managing the developer team, outside resources and overall technical execution of the business plan and vision.
Nicolette is the Director of Social Marketing for BusyEvent having graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and a certificate in Public Relations. Before coming to BusyEvent, Nicci worked in promotions and public relations for 5-Hour Energy and other well-known brands. A self-proclaimed news-junkie and social media addict, Nicci has an extensive background in content creation, client relations management and hands-on experience assisting clients in implementing and maximizing new marketing and engagement strategies.
A subject matter expert and sought after guest blogger on how the use of technology can improve business and operational processes, Nicci is the primary author of the BusyEvent blog and manages all of our interactive and social media platforms.
Raj is a business development intern at BusyEvent Mobile with a focus on market expansion beyond traditional tradeshows and conferences. Currently studying Finance and Marketing at Washington University in St. Louis, Raj has a background in venture capital as well as extensive experience as an entrepreneur founding the widely popular ‘Chettar’ application that helps collegiate philanthropies generate revenues for their charities. A brother of the Tau Tau chapter of Sigma Chi, Raj graduated from Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron, OH where ESPN ranked him the 18th best fullback in the nation (2012).
Raj will focus on the identification and analysis of new opportunities for BusyEvent Mobile and will lead the company’s expansion into those new markets.
A.D. Bud Albers
Bud is the former Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for both the Walt Disney Corporation and Disney’s Interactive Media Group where he led the Connected and Advanced Technologies (DCAT) team. A graduate of McKendree College, he was named as one of ComputerWorld’s Premier 100 IT leaders and has been an advisory board member to some of the world’s most prominent technology companies and Silicon Valley Venture Capital firms. Bud has been at the forefront of technology innovation in the online, mobile and media space and has authored and been a featured speaker on technology and media, large scale Internet computing, cloud computing and information security. He holds several patents in the areas of rich media search and high volume media delivery. In total, the portfolio he oversaw delivered more than $2.5B in revenues on an annual basis.
Bud is advising and consulting with BusyEvent on the ongoing development and build-out of the BusyEventMobile platform as well as strategic partnerships and growth opportunities.
David is a global strategic marketing and business development professional with more than two decades of experience in the banking, telecommunications, software, cloud and mobile/smartphone industries. With broad experience in both Fortune 500 and startup environments, David led the product marketing, software development, customer interaction solutions and strategic global alliances divisions during his 13 years with MCI Corporation and Cable & Wireless, PLC. Since then, he has been a senior executive with three startups and guided the successful exit of two software companies focused on content delivery via mobile phones and language localization services.
With broad knowledge of both domestic and international business practices, David is the VP of Marketing and Sales and will focus on building and growing the innovative delivery of marketing though traditional and social channels as well as develop a vibrant sales channel.
Robin P. Sterneck
Robin P. Sterneck, 56, is President of Highland Birch Group, a private business consulting firm. Prior to founding Highland Birch Group, Ms. Sterneck served in various capacities at Swiss Reinsurance (“Swiss Re”), a leading wholesale provider of reinsurance, insurance and other insurance-based forms of risk transfer, including serving as Managing Director, Head of Global Talent from January 2009 until her retirement in September 2009, and as Managing Director, Head of Commercial Insurance from 2006 until 2009.
Ms. Sterneck joined Swiss Re upon its acquisition of GE Insurance Solutions in 2006. Prior to the acquisition, Ms. Sterneck served in a number of positions at GE Insurance Solutions beginning in 1999, including as Head of the Commercial Insurance Division, a member of the Executive Leadership Team and a Global Marketing Leader. She also served as Senior Vice President of GE Capital from 1996 until 2006, and she previously held a number of positions with various subsidiaries of General Electric Co. (“GE”). Prior to joining GE in 1996, Ms. Sterneck spent 15 years in investment banking and public finance, including serving as Managing Director of Public Finance for Clayton Brown & Associates and as Senior Vice President for Shearson Lehman Brothers.
Ms. Sterneck has served on numerous non-profit and private company boards.
Joseph D. Garea, Managing Director
Prior to co-founding Manchester Partners (a predecessor firm to Hancock) in 1997, Joe served as President of Enterprise Capital Management, a venture capital firm, and was Chief Financial Officer of Enterbank Holdings, the holding company for Enterprise Bank. From 1987 to 1994, Joe served as Senior Vice President and Chief Lending Officer of United Postal Savings. He began his career with KPMG in 1977.
Throughout his career, Joe has been both advisor and principal in numerous acquisitions and sales of financial institutions and commercial companies. He has been responsible for the operation of various residential mortgage, commercial and consumer lending and finance companies. His experience includes equity formation and investment, management of mergers and acquisitions, investment portfolios, sales and marketing activities, retail and commercial lending, management of troubled assets, asset recovery and finance activities for public and commercial companies.
Joe earned a degree in Business Administration from Saint Louis University and is a Certified Public Accountant. He holds Series 7, 24, 63, and 65 licenses from FINRA.
Mark Zorensky, Director
Mr. Zorensky, 61, is a real estate developer and manager. He serves, currently as President of Hycel Properties Co. after a long career developing and managing major St. Louis shopping centers such as Saint Louis Galleria (sold 2003), Crestwood Plaza (sold 1998) and Northwest Plaza (sold in 1983). Hycel currently offers real estate brokerage and consulting services for retailers and other businesses. His professional activities include membership in the International Council of Shopping Centers as well as activities as a Missouri Real Estate broker and membership in the World Presidents’ Organization. He has various active investment positions and is deeply involved in community organizations such as Jewish Federation of St. Louis, United Jewish Appeal, Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Hospital Foundation.
Mark served for six years as an observer to the board of Build-A-Bear Workshop and was Chairman of their supporting Real Estate Committee. He participates in Fair St. Louis and Young Presidents’ Organization and various other educational efforts.
Mark is an active board member of BusyEvent, representing the holders of Series A Preferred Stock, and bringing his experience as an event attendee and business manager to our planning activities.
